Your votes have been counted and the 2008 Byte Class Awards are now finalized...

After the tremendous seasons they both had, it's no surprise that Sacha Roberts, FBYC, & Thomas Nicholson, RKYC, were named as the 2008 Byte Sailors of the Year. Sacha and Thomas, both CII sailors, racked up an impressive array of hardware in 2008. Thomas won the North Americans and East Coast Championships. Sacha won the Northeast Grand Prix, Canadian Championships, Canadian Youth Championships and Quebec Championships. Both athletes won free trips to the 2008 Byte Worlds and represented us extremely well. Thomas was top North American at Worlds, finishing 8th. Sacha was right behind him in 9th. This awesome duo have really made us proud!

SMSC is well represented in this year's awards. Danielle Dube, SMSC, was voted Coach of the Year. Danielle is no stranger to these awards - back in 2004 she was named Byte Class Athlete of the Year and was also top female at Byte Worlds that same year.

The SMSC Team was named Team of the Year for the 4th year in a row!

Christie Nicoll, WAEG, takes over the Most Improved Title from her sister, Caitlin, who won it last year. Christie also took over the NE GP Championship Belt from her sister. Way to keep things in the family girls!
